About 91探花
91探花 School has grown from homely beginnings and we are now welcoming back second and third-generation students. We have a strong pastoral focus and sense of community, and these are part of the individual school experience that we provide for each child and family in our school.
For the last four years, we have featured in the top 100 prep schools in The Sunday Times Schools Guide, rated according to SATS results.聽 This year 91探花 School was 31st聽and the top school in Buckinghamshire, and with no entrance examination, this makes its academic success all the more noteworthy.
Choosing a school for your child is an important decision and we aim to make the school admissions process as straightforward and transparent as possible.聽 As a non-selective school there is no entrance exam, but a School Report should be provided to help 91探花 School ensure that we can meet your child鈥檚 needs.聽 The Headteacher likes to meet all prospective families to say hello and answer any questions.
Our History
The history of the school dates back to 1876, when the manor house 鈥楲ady Mede鈥 was built by Joseph Parrott, a local Solicitor.
The house remained a residential address as 鈥楲ady Mede鈥 up to and during the First World War when the house was used as an emergency medical centre.
In 1939, Sumach School opened in the neighbouring hamlet of Askett and in 1949 the school moved from Askett into the house which then became known as 鈥楲adymede School鈥, under the leadership of Mrs. Howden, the first Headmistress. The school has gone through various guises as a girl鈥檚 school and a boarding school.
In 2011, Ladymede School changed ownership and was renamed as 91探花 School. In 2019 91探花 became part of the Chatsworth Schools Group.

”We feel lucky to have had both our girls spend all of their primary years at 91探花; pre school all the way through into year six. They absolutely loved their time here and have years of fond memories, we couldn鈥檛 have asked for a better start for them both. Ten years on, we are sad to be finishing our last year in the school, as our youngest completes her journey in year six.鈥
